Jayme Tisi RMT, R.AC
Jayme Tisi is a Registered Acupuncturist (R.ac) and Registered Massage Therapist (RMT). She has been practicing therapeutic massage as an RMT since 2008 when she graduated from Sutherland- Chan School of Massage Therapy. During these 9 years Jayme has used her vast knowledge, experience and technique to successfully treat many conditions including lumbago, rotator cuff strains, frozen shoulder, tendonitis, plantar fasciitis, tension related headaches, whiplash related pain, muscular imbalances and various nerve compression syndromes (sciatica, carpal tunnel, and thoracic outlet syndrome). She believes that the first step to healing the body is relaxation to the nervous system which she effectively uses as the foundation to restore the health, comfort and mobility of her clients.
Depending on what is the best course of treatment Jayme then employs a unique combination of techniques and therapies including swedish massage, myofascial release, trigger point, cranial-sacral, strain/counter-strain and acupuncture. Within her practice she works with clients to identify and change their habits that contribute to their discomfort and postural imbalances as well as recommending and demonstrating exercises they can do at home to help the healing process. In this way the client takes an active role in their recovery enabling them to reap the maximum benefits from her treatments in a shorter time. With over 9 years of experience working as a massage therapist Jayme decided to go back to school to study acupuncture to expand her scope of practice to be able to treat more client complaints and conditions. She fell in love with TCM theory because it enables a deeper approach at tackling the client’s chief complaint and narrowing in on the root of the problem. With a thorough investigation it helps the client become aware and engaged so they can actively take part in their healing by viewing it through a lens of body, mind and spirit which should not be separated from their physical manifestations. Over the years of treating a vast variety of conditions Jayme ensures that each treatment is tailored to the clients individual needs and each treatment evolves appropriately. She will be sure to actively and sensitively listen to your concerns so that a thorough treatment can be conducted. Above all else she genuinely cares about attaining positive results and is determined to provide relief that delivers client satisfaction. In her experience as a TCM acupuncturist Jayme has had great success treating a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions such as lumbago, tendonitis, carpal tunnel syndrome, sciatic pain, rotator cuff and joint mobility restrictions. Aside from MSK complaints she also has had great results with cosmetic treatments, headaches, tinnitus, fibromyalgia, digestive concerns and sinusitis. It brings her great satisfaction to observe the tangible results that acupuncture therapy relief brings to each client. Acupuncture is incredible to not only target acute and chronic conditions alike but also is a great modality to harmonize the system and act as a preventative health measurement. She is excited to continually grow as a TCM Acupuncturist with the goal of being able to offer more comfort to her clients every day experience. Acupuncture has been proven to have positive effects on the nervous, endocrine, immune, cardiovascular and digestive systems as well as improve sleep and assist in the overall health and wellness of the people who receive it. What to expect when coming in for acupuncture treatment: After filling out a detailed health history, a series of questions will be asked to gather further information of what may be the contributing to the clients’ complaints. To get a clear picture of what disharmony is occurring I will also use tongue and pulse diagnosis. I will examine the tongue’s shape, colour and coating. The pulse will then be carefully read in order to gain more information. Based on all the information gathered I will insert fine sterile needles into the precise acupuncture points that will be helpful to you. The typical retention time for the needles is approximately 20 minutes. Most clients experience minimal to no pain during their treatments and report a great sense of relaxation. After the needles are removed some suggestions for self-care will be offered and a treatment plan will be discussed. |
